Blue Ridge Veterinary Cardiology is a mobile cardiology practice for dogs and cats in the Charlottesville area.

Locations

We see patients weekly on Wednesdays at Crossroads Animal Hospital (65 Jefferson Court, Zion Crossroads, VA, 22942).

We see patients weekly on Thursdays at Hollymead Veterinary Hospital (1540 Airport Road, Charlottesville, VA, 22911).

We are pleased to announce the opening of a satellite location at Eagle’s Nest Animal Hospital (9687 Barbara’s Way, King George, VA, 22485). We will be seeing patients at this location approximately once per month. If your pet is symptomatic for their heart disease, please have your veterinarian send us your pet’s records so we can determine if it is safe to wait for an appointment, and to help adjust treatment if needed.

Dr . Weidman

Jess Weidman received his doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) from Oregon State University in 2002.  He then completed a rotating internship at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura, California, followed by a cardiology residency with CVCA in Vienna, Virginia.  He became board certified as a Cardiologist with ACVIM in 2006 and has been working in private practice since, primarily in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Weidman has served on the national Cardiology Examination Committee, including one year as committee chair. He has collaborated on clinical drug trials and has contributed to several scientific papers, including the discovery of inherited arrhythmias in Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

Dr. Weidman is excited to bring his cardiology expertise to patients in the Charlottesville area.  He enjoys managing both urgent and chronic heart disease in dogs and cats, creating plans to help delay onset of symptoms and optimize each patient’s quality of life.
